MARE focuses on providing a coordinated solution to enhance security and privacy in 6G ecosystems by leveraging the already available 6G architecture solutions from ongoing European and international activities, thus fostering coordination and collaboration.
Therefore, the project will contribute to the creation of a secure and private 6G service provisioning platform by defining a novel security plane built on a well-defined set of open and programmable security functions, delivered as enablers of a 6G architecture, in a transparent and multi-domain/stakeholder environment, with the ability to proactively propose and assess strategies to efficiently deal with novel attacks and threats.
MARE pivots on two main contributions:
- A set of enriched security functions built upon basic primitives, referred to as DOTs, that must be composed into programmable security services to maximize security guarantees (Security Plane).
- A smart “pre-assessment” ecosystem, including simulation, emulation (with network digital twins) and real infrastructure, where security and privacy functions are analysed prior to production and deployment.
